Plot: Laughing Buddha revolves around the life of an overweight police constable named Govardhan

Movie review: Head Constable Govardhan (Pramod Shetty), is a foodie known for his acumen and skills in cracking cases with ease. His passion for food, in fact, is what wins the heart of his wife, Teju Belawadi.

This film offers a refreshing change from the usual cop films by focusing on the everyday lives of constables, the backbone of the police force who are often overshadowed.

Everything is hunky-dory in the life of Govardhan, until an unexpected turn of events exposes the dark side of the police force, revealing an obsession with weight and its detrimental impact on officers. This revelation sends Govardhan into a tizzy.

The protagonist faces a challenging task: losing weight within three months to keep his job. This twist adds an intriguing element to the story. Govardhan must now work hard to reduce his weight, and whether he can succeed to remain in the police department becomes the central question.

, written and directed by M Bharath Raj, skillfully combines humour and entertainment with a well-crafted narrative. Diganth's timely character elevates the film to a new level. The lighthearted sequences keep the audience engaged, and both Diganth and Pramod Shetty deliver outstanding performances. Sundar Raj and Teju Belawadi also shine in their respective roles. Despite a few minor flaws, is a worthwhile watch for a weekend.
