There are several stacked-up films arriving in the coming weeks, and this week as well as next week will witness two of Bollywood's biggest multi-starrers in the form of Welcome To The Jungle and Dhamaal 4. It is certainly heartening to see. However, there are two more films that can also be classified as multi-starrers, albeit with a slight difference.
I am talking about King, which is primarily a mega Shah Rukh Khan-led vehicle, as one would expect, but also features some of the finest names in Bollywood, including Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and even acclaimed OTT stars like Jaideep Ahlawat, along with younger talents such as Raghav Juyal, Abhay Verma, and more.
Its Tamil counterpart is the mega wagon and much-awaited Jailer 2, the superstar Rajinikanth-led juggernaut. The principal cast itself is packed with formidable actors, but the film also boasts cameo appearances from Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Vijay Sethupathi, Vidya Balan, and none other than Hrithik Roshan.
While the shoots of several other films are still underway, a few fan-posted images from the sets of Jailer 2 recently surfaced online. Roshan arrived in Chennai to shoot for the film, and photos clicked by fans on set, along with members of the flight crew, have been circulating widely on social media.
While that has generated excitement, Roshan's appearance sparked curiosity. Unlike his usually robust self, the actor looked surprisingly lanky and lean in a couple of the pictures. Though he was sporting a hoodie and may simply have been tired from his travels, his physique appeared noticeably slimmer, almost giving the impression that he was not at his healthiest.
Of course, this observation is based purely on appearances, and it could very well be a case of photos being captured at an unflattering moment. Nevertheless, Roshan's cameo in Jailer 2 is undoubtedly one to watch out for. It also marks a fascinating full-circle moment for Rajinikanth, considering Roshan appeared as a child actor in Bhagwan Dada alongside the superstar exactly 40 years ago.
