Vicky Kaushal’s recent box office success has sparked a wave of speculation about his next moves, especially after the massive earnings of his latest film. The actor’s name has recently been linked to the YRF Spy Universe, prompting fans to wonder if he’s gearing up for an action-packed franchise debut. Despite ongoing discussions at Yash Raj Films about introducing fresh talent into their spy series, Kaushal’s name isn’t attached to any confirmed plans. While the studio does intend to broaden the universe, the casting process for upcoming characters is still underway, and Kaushal hasn’t signed anything.
The studio’s current priority remains War 2, which stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani. The film is slated for an August 14 release, timed to coincide with the Independence Day weekend. With high expectations and a big theatrical clash lined up against Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and featuring Rajinikanth, the promotional strategy for War 2 is expected to intensify in the coming weeks.
YRF is also working on another addition to its spy line-up — Alpha, headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is set for a Christmas 2025 release and will be the first entry in the franchise to focus on female agents. Bobby Deol is expected to play a key role in the storyline, though further details remain under wraps.
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal continues to focus on other large-scale projects. He is currently filming Love & War with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, sharing the screen with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. In addition, he is preparing for Mahavatar, a mythological feature in which he will portray the character of Lord Parasuram. Both films are seen as critical milestones in his expanding filmography.
